In the story of life sometimes you get stuck in the same chapter.

For example, let’s say that every day you spend a couple hours searching and consuming videos of other people masturbating. This habit goes on and on for 10 years. Well, if you were a character in a story, the audience would be extremely bored of this same old repetitive behavior. “Give us something new!” they are shouting at this boring ass book. But there you go repeating the same couple of sentences over and over again. The character searches for and watches videos. The character sleeps. The character searches for and watches videos. The character sleeps. The character searches for and watches videos. The character sleeps. The character searches for and watches videos. The character sleeps.

Well if this is you, the repetitive video consuming zombie, think of me as your audience. I am bored. I want to skip to the next chapter named “Reimagining Life Post Addiction.” Please, I am begging you, do me a favor and create a new chapter.

When you have been stuck in an internet fantasy consumption cycle, with repetitive images flashing across your screen, it is difficult to acknowledge the possibility that fantasy could also change your direction. This is exactly what I am suggesting, to fantasize about a new direction in life. You have already played out the video zombie chapter, now what other characters exist? Can you imagine a character that has a close community of friends? A diverse group of people getting together to share meals and laughs in person? Can you imagine a mindful use of communication tools like video conferencing? Can you imagine a character that is intimate without having sex? Can you imagine a character that goes for a walk outside?

Boredom is a great tool for the imagination. Use your boredom to show us an example of a different character, one we don’t see often. The audience is watching and waiting.

The beginning.
