This blog is created with an intention to contribute to the field of self help. We want more than anything to provide people resources that can assist them in changing addictive habits. However, we feel it is important to recognize that self-help has limitations.

Sometimes the problems people face are difficult (if not impossible) to change completely on their own. It can take an outside perspective to recognize and bring attention to things that you are unable to recognize in your self. With addictive habits there are ways in which we protect ourselves against any changes. These guardians of consistency can be very sneaky and downright unnoticeable in a mirror.

You can’t change something if you are blind to it. You also can’t see everything without the aide of another’s perspective. What I am referring to here is the point where self-help flounders and compassionate care fosters growth.

Go Help Yourself! Also please don’t be to proud to utilize resources like Jungian Analysts, Art Therapists, Social Workers, or Counselors. These professionals can often offer a much perspective on your situation. And find a group to contribute to, trust me the others need your presence.
